About Danielle
Danielle brings over twenty years of experience working with families as a preschool teacher and director to Nido Kids. During her graduate studies in early childhood education, she gained deep insights into the Reggio Emilia approach. Captivated by its holistic teaching method—where the interests of the child guide the curriculum—Danielle was inspired to extend this philosophy beyond the classroom. Her goal is to make the transformative potential of this approach accessible to parents, enabling them to incorporate its principles into their daily lives with their children.
Why Reggio Emilia at home?
Whether you use Nido Kids often as a stay-at-home parent or a supplement for your child’s days home from school, take as few or as many of our recommendations as appropriate for your family’s routine. This structure allows for play and exploration while connecting with your child’s interests. With our programs, Nido Kids helps families understand the process of implementing the Reggio approach using observational tools, learning the development of the whole child, and providing open-ended experiences to spark inquisitive learning with inspiring home setups and daily rhythms.
Foundations of Reggio Emilia
Image of the Child: Viewing children as capable and competent individuals who are consistently learning within their community.
100 Languages: Children have endless ways of thinking, communicating, engaging, and expressing their ideas.
Environment as the Third Teacher: A thoughtfully designed space, rich in possibilities, encourages open-ended engagement that provides opportunities to support the development of the whole child.
Co-Learners: Parents and caregivers are seen as learners alongside their children, exploring and discovering the world together.
Emergent Curriculum: Learning in the Reggio approach evolves based on the interests and inquiries of the children.
